Our Story

 

Hey y’all!

Welcome to SQHD gear, or “Square Head” as we like to call it. How did we come up
with SQHD? The idea came to my wife Ashley and I a few years back with a dream of
starting our own saltwater brand. We absolutely love saltwater fishing, whether it’s in the
bay, in the surf or miles out offshore, the salty currents run deep in our veins. It was only
natural for us to be out on the water while brainstorming this idea for a brand and in a
moment somewhere between the rising tide and endless crashing waves, our idea was
born. Our favorite fish is the Mahi Mahi, this is where Square Head came from, sounds
silly but we do love the way SQHD looks on a cap or shirt. However, weren’t quite
satisfied with “it looks good” or it stand for Square Head, we knew we needed a deeper
meaning. During another family fishing trip down on the Texas coast, after having a
blast catching a limit of reds, the meaning for SQHD became clear to us.
